On Friday leading Australian Artist, Colin Lanceley passed away after a long illness.
He is fondly remembered as one of Australia's most lyrical and poetic painters.

His characteristic style evolved around his long-standing fascination with collage, which has been the basis of his work, virtually from the outset of his career.

In 1961 Lanceley helped form the Imitation Realist Group, an organisation of Australian mixed media avante-garde artists, and was a dedicated advocate for the revival of the National Art School in Sydney.

Lanceley was awarded an Order of Australia in 1990 and received an Australia Council
Creative Arts Fellowship in 1991.

Berkeley Editions is proud to have worked closely with Colin to create two collographs
'Fisherman's Wharf' and 'Night Garden'

With great admiration, condolences and love to his wife and family,

Robyn Berkeley
