Jasper Knight is an Australian painter best known for depicting industrial landscapes, cars, and boats using slick enamel paint on discarded signs or plywood. Born in Sydney in 1978, Knight completed a Master of Arts at the University of New South Wales. His broadly coloured works denote the influence of Piet Mondrian graffiti art and Roy Lichtenstein viscerally depicting icons of the urban landscape. Berkeley Editions Fine Art are proud to provide a fantastic selection of Jasper Knight art for sale.
In 2006, Jasper was awarded an Australia Council New Work grant, the Freedman Foundation Scholarship and The Rocks Art Prize. He has also been a finalist in the Blake Prize, the ABN-Amro Prize, the Mosman Art Prize, the Helen Lempriere Prize and the Brett Whiteley Prize. He has had solo shows in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide, Berlin and London. Knight completed residencies in Sydney, Germany and China and his work is held by the National Gallery of Australia (Canberra), Artbank (Sydney) and corporate collections in Australia and overseas.
